NEWARK HIGH SCHOOL, Newark, DE, 2001
Located on Delaware Avenue and built in 1956, this building houses the oldest high school in Newark. This school was first established in the early 1890's when it was known as the Old Newark Comprehensive School, located at 83 Main Street in the building now occupied by the Christina School District. In 1898, it moved to the Newark Academy Building on Main and Academy Streets, and from there, in 1925, it moved farther down Academy Street to a new building now known as Pearson Hall (a University of Delaware facility). It was from this building the upper grades (9 to 12) moved in 1956 to occupy the present building.
