CHAPEL STREET PLAYHOUSE

Located on Chapel Street near Main Street, and built in 1947, this building was the place of worship for the First Church of the Nazarene, until 1970, when the congregation was relocated to their present facility farther down the street from Main Street.   The Playhouse which was founded in 1934, held performances on the University of Delaware Campus from that time until 1970, when it moved to its present location and replaced the Church of the Nazarene.
